This policy governs consumer reviews on the websites EagleHQ builds and hosts, including the Verified Reviews badge. It explains what the badge commits a business to, the narrow grounds on which a published review may be removed, and how to ask us to look at one.
How reviews are published
A review left through EagleHQ is tied to a signed-in account and to a specific completed job on that business's site, and one review may be left per job. We do not write, buy, sell, solicit, or incentivize reviews, and we do not offer any product that reorders or filters reviews by sentiment.
Every business chooses one of two policies for its own site:
- Moderated — reviews are approved before publication and may be edited or removed by the business. The site displays no badge and makes no claim about its reviews.
- Unfiltered — reviews publish automatically and the business cannot edit, hide, or delete them. This is enforced on our servers, not in the interface. A site running this way may display the Verified Reviews badge, which states the date its unfiltered run began. Turning any moderation control back on removes the badge immediately and resets that date.
When a review can be removed
A business cannot remove a review because it is unflattering, mistaken, or unfair. It may ask us to review one on the grounds recognised by the Federal Trade Commission's Rule on the Use of Consumer Reviews and Testimonials (16 CFR Part 465), namely that the review:
- Is defamatory, harassing, abusive, obscene, vulgar, sexually explicit, or discriminatory.
- Contains another person's private information, or confidential or trade-secret information.
- Is clearly false or misleading, or we reasonably believe it to be fake.
- Is wholly unrelated to the goods or services the business offers — including a review left for a different business.
We decide, not the business. A report suspends nothing: the review stays published while we consider it. We may contact the reviewer. If we remove a review we record that we did and why, and a business's badge is unaffected by a report we decline.
How to report a review
Email hello@eaglehq.us with the subject line "Review Report" and include:
- The web address of the page the review appears on, and enough detail to identify the review.
- Which ground above you are relying on.
- The facts supporting it, and any documents you have.
- Your name, role at the business, and contact details.
Reports made in bad faith — to bury ordinary criticism — may cost a business its badge.
What businesses may not do
Federal law protects a customer's right to write honestly about a business. A business using EagleHQ may not:
- Use a contract, quote, invoice, or website term that stops a customer reviewing them, penalises them for it, or claims ownership of their review. Those terms are void under the Consumer Review Fairness Act (15 U.S.C. § 45b) and may be unlawful under state law.
- Threaten a customer, or send a legal threat with no evidentiary basis, to stop a review being written or to have one taken down.
- Write reviews of itself, or have staff, family, or contractors do so without disclosing the connection.
- Offer anything of value in exchange for a review that expresses a particular sentiment.
- Ask only satisfied customers for reviews while presenting the result as though it reflected all of them.
We may remove the badge from, suspend, or terminate any account we find doing these things.
Reviewers
If you left a review, it is yours. You may ask us to correct or remove your own review, or to exercise your data rights, at any time — see our Privacy Rights page or email hello@eaglehq.us.
Not legal advice
This policy describes how our platform works and the rules we apply to it. It is not legal advice, and it does not replace a business's own responsibility to comply with the laws that apply to it.
