Fair questions
No — it means the score is honest. A verified 3.4 is a 3.4. The badge is about how the reviews got there, not whether they're good. For quality, read the reviews themselves; the badge is why you can.
Yes. A business can reply publicly under any review and pin a favourite to the top. Adding context isn't hiding anything — every other review is still on the page underneath.
EagleHQ's servers. The delete, hide and edit buttons aren't just hidden from a badged business — the request is refused before it touches the review. The only way back to deleting is to switch moderation on, and that takes the badge off the site the same moment.
How long the business has run unfiltered. If they switch moderation back on — even for an afternoon — the date resets to zero rather than pausing. So “unfiltered since 2024” tells you something “unfiltered since last Tuesday” doesn't.
Yes, and we won't pretend otherwise. Businesses send review links job by job (or switch on automatic asking), so they can skip a customer. What a badged business can't do is un-ask: once a link is out, whatever comes back publishes and stays.
Every review a customer submits is. A business can also type up a testimonial it was given in person or over the phone — those aren't job-linked, and because the words are the owner's own transcription they can correct them. Only job-linked reviews can carry the “Verified customer” mark.
A review that's defamatory, fake, publishes someone's private details, or was meant for a different business can still come down — but EagleHQ decides, not the business, on grounds set out in our Review Integrity Policy. Nothing is hidden while we look. To report one, email hello@eaglehq.us.
The badge is our promise, but it sits inside US law. The FTC's review rule (16 CFR Part 465) bans fake reviews, bought reviews and hiding the bad ones while implying you're seeing them all. The Consumer Review Fairness Act (15 U.S.C. § 45b) voids any contract that stops a customer reviewing a business. This is a summary, not legal advice.
